  2. Yes Braunston, that's where I saw it. It's all come back to me know, I even went aboard. The colours were definately the same as the links I mentioned earlier. Cream and Blue. Sheffield's municipal transport colours of a past era.
  3. I'm not sure if I saw Pride of Sheffield at a boat show and if it was painted in the municipal transport colours. The old trams and buses of Sheffield use to be in cream and dark blue. Here are a few links to the colours, www.sheffieldbusmuseum.com www.railart.co.uk/gallery/images/bottomley_2.jpg www.wishful-thinking.org.uk/genuki/DBY/Crich/Tram.html Hope this helps.
  4. Wow something better than this thread. Do tell, or a link, please. The last quiz I went to was at a pub in Coalville. The first question was ' Who the hell do you think your looking at' I didn't stop for the second question.
  5. Corruption, intrigue, suspense, sex, damsel in distress, illness, rows over money. You couldn't write it. Will BSP finally solve her dodgy electrics? Will she meet Mr X at the Cape? Does BSP really have a bf? This is better than Eastenders! Coat please
  6. On the contary, I spoke to one HC and they reported bookings running well ahead of last year. More than half the fleet out for the last week in March! Of course if you want a recession just listen to the media.

  8. Digital Tachographs on LGVs are already being used by VOSA to prosecute speeding drivers. Plus some companies have satnav tracking devices fitted and these are used to discipline speeding drivers. Now the local council has put up warning covert CCTV surveillance signs, (using the anti terrier-ist legislation) to protect us from dog fouling. AND WE JUST SLEEPWALK into accepting this nonsense. I never give my correct details when asked for this nonsense. It's got nothing to do with the retailer or the state who I am, when I buy fuel. Anymore than it is when I buy a paper or a bag of chips. It's called freedom, something we fought 2WW for. What is new is people just accepting the state's interference in a miriade of things that are no concern of theirs.
  9. This is an absolute gem of a place. Good moorings just around the corner too, on this very long pound. Very convenient for walking into to town, nearby Co-op superstore.
  10. Last night I shook hands with the devil In a dream that I can never lose He laughed when he saw me cryin' At the pictures on the evening news He said it's not really a dilemma You're just a little out of touch Don't think of the situation Cos it'll make you think too much Someone always hates someone Someone always hates someone Someone always sells a gun Cos someone always hates someone A child will be born tomorrow As open as an empty cup And we'll fill it with hope and sorrow The very things that messed us up We'll ask him to join the congregation A hindu muslem christian or jew Pretty soon he'll recognise his brothers But soon he'll know the enemy too Someone always hates someone Someone always hates someone Someone always buys a gun Cos someone always hates someone I died and I went to heaven In a dream I never had before A good friend who had gone before me Had kindly left my name at the door I looked on the face of the almighty Couldn't help myself I started to shout How come you made a mess of things How come you didn't work it out He said Someone always hates someone Someone always hates someone There's so much love for everyone But someone always hates someone
  11. A strange request, but I wondered if anyone knew how much gas an Alde CH system left on pilot light only for 3 weeks would use? We left the boat a few weeks ago on a winterised setting to fire up if it gets below 5C. I'm pretty sure the temperature never got that low, so it's been pilot only.
  12. No worries mate. Thanks for reminding me I hired from Evesham. Somehow I'd totally forgotten the base there. Happy memories of sleeping in the boatmans and steering with the range blazing away by my feet!
  13. How come I hired the first challenger boat in 1990, then? Is that what you call fairly recent? It was called Norfolk, still in their fleet only now as a shared boat
  14. Yeah Yeah and some experts still believe in Father Christmas.
  15. no point mate, you don't need keys to start a mk1 cavalier. But thanks for advertising the fact.
