Very common on the Caldon

You would not believe how many times i see this in a year, most are hire boats, but some not.

For every position filled one less real job gone,

If sitting out on boat at night having a G n T and those midges are nipping, take the lemon out and rub it on your skin, they hate the citric smell, maybe love the gin, but hates the lemon

B/W have just released a memo saying 300 people have shown an interest in volunteering, ill try and find it and post it.

I told you so,, its the end of your B/W Staff, from moorings licence staff to the bank side oppo guys, the more you agree to them/volunteers, the more we go (asks your waterway group for clarity), it wont be called `volunteers` ect it will be called something like the inland waterway trust membership group,, if you like what you have had , even though you have disagreed with our/B.W policy’s, fight for B/W staff, if not, good luck with your future,, your seeing how its panning out now,, don’t moan about it, remember its time to put your hands where your mouth is, boats without a license, towpath over hangers, long towpath grass. dog muck, kids chucking stones, boaters empting their bilge out, fly tipping ect ect ect ,, just get your gloves on,,,,, there’s no one to ring anymore........... We won’t exist.

That’s all well and good, but meaningless without volunteers.

Funny,, no replies

It is very common on the system, but it only lasts a month or two hence the marking, 90% will never be found and have run for years. Its only trickles out but you never know do you, we have one in Froghall Basin, its run for a couple of years now but we cant find it, theres many on the Caldon too, some were fixed on the Leek Branch nr tunnel pool when we had the water out for the breach. One good thing about a long dry spell on the cut is, is does show us where we have some leaks as the ground stays wet,, nothings done but we know where they are.

Give him his land back and B/W have their water, alls ok then
