    You lot make me feel old. I was in the RAF at the time, stationed at RAF Bishops Court in N.Ireland. I was recently married and had a flat in Belfast, traveling to work each day. For a full week the camp was snowed in and I couldn't get there. I was marked up as absent with permision. Snow did me a favour. The only vehicle moving was the camps 6 wheel drive fire tender and that was doing 'humanitarian' work around local farms and smallholdings.

    We hired from Fox at March. Spent half a day on the middle levels To Stanground Sluice, then 10 days to Wellingborough and back on the river Nene. First time on a boat, I was going to say 'with no problems' but thats the wrong boat ours was named Urban Fox.

    ZX80 ZX81 with 16kb ram pack Spectrum 48k with addon proper keyboard and microdrive Amiga 1000 (proper box with seprate kayboard and monitor) and two (yes two) floppy disc drives. Upgraded with a plug in board with 4 Mb of memory and a 120Mb hard drive. My SiL asked what I needed all that meomory for. I then caved in and went the micosoft way, but I did assemble my own sytems. Just to be techie rather than practical.

    I would think all stairs are dog friendly, they are for our dog. With her at the bottom and food at the top she would climb a builders ladder, in the boat she will hammer from one end to the other and hardly notice the steps in the way.     They have a free range cat which I was told was a vicious and took a dilight in attacking dogs. Of course I could have been told that so I would keep my stupid mut in check
