  1. Hi All As its getting near winter we tend to run the water tanks as low as they will go (toilet & main tank)... the danger of this is we often run out whilst having a shower etc and its a dash to find the isolator on the fuseboard etc.... so, I'm thinking about getting a few 12v 20A switches and putting one on the main and one on the toilet pump - in the skirting board next to each, probably with a LED in so we can also see a live indicator. This makes isolating easier plus both pumps are on the same circuit so it then allows me to turn off just the one. Can anyone see any issues with this - BSS etc or does the plan sound ok?? thanks!! rob

  4. I'd just add you can sign up to ANT alerts (not the legged variety!). If you pop your details in here they will email you on any closures and also give notice of interesting things occurring you might be able to see: Notices - Avon Navigation Trust they also text me so thats possible, but can't see it on that page..... have a great trip - its stunning in the Autumn on the Avon........
  5. I thought that in Autumn prices always dropped as people sold off after the season, with them picking up in the Spring as the hunters come out from hibernation...
  6. It has radioactive shelves, and something interesting with corks....
  7. Thanks Tracy, they do offer this but you have to have a home berth, which we wont have once we begin...
  8. Hi all Despite trying we've not managed to retire as yet and have other commitments stopping us spending more that a few weeks at a time on the boat, so the boat has been at Ventnor Marina for a few years now. We desperately want to expand our cruising and explore more waterways, but the issue of always returning to base cuts our time in half. We had an idea of ditching the home marina, and booking other marinas we can use temporarily as we move about the system (ignore the car aspect we can get others to help with that). I've read on here this could be problematic with marina space/availability? Does anyone else operate this way successfully or is it just stress inducing? Not keen to leave the boat on the cut whilst were not on it for weeks at a time.... anyone got nuggets of advice? all gratefully received! rob

  15. As this now seems sorted can i hop in here?.... if changing the oil in the PRM 150 i know lots use pumps in the dipstick hole, is this purely due to accessibility of the sump plug or in case of problems with it and it leaking? doing mine shortly....

  17. I did this very recently on ours. The screw thread on our tank is 1/4" BSP, but not sure if there is a 'standard' ?
  18. Even taxing Welsh citizens staying up the road.... odd policy?
  19. I'm not aware of this - we have a 43 as well (good engines).... Beta themselves are very helpful if you call them?
