  1. Indeed. We had a share at BCBM before we bought Water Lily. Interesting bunch of people on the syndicate - some really just want to turn up and go on hols, others love polishing the woodwork and get upset if they see scratches. The good bit about the boat they are looking at is winter maintenance is included in the monthly fee - always better. Keep in mind that on occasions something will occur which needs extra payments from members, such as repaints/new engine etc... but split 12 ways softens the blow! Might be an idea to ask if anything is planned imminently on this, as sometimes members leave just before major expenditures.... Make sure they are happy with the allocation of weeks each year and it works for them. They may even get extra for free - we often had two or three extra weeks a year we didn't pay for as other can't make it etc...

  7. interesting.... If I was buying, I'd want to take the boat out for a test BEFORE i paid for it..... as it'll be his boat when its taken out then its up to him to sort isn't it? as its his then not really worth worrying about is it?
  8. Nice install, very neat and unobtrusive!

  12. Its been a hot Summer, so maybe you have used less? We got our bill as well, along with this: This is £67.00 less per property than usual, to pass on the discount of the Energy Bill Support Scheme. From October, you'll receive a monthly discount on your account of £66 (rising to £67 from December to March) from the Government. 16. Thanks for all the replies.. yes the pumpout has its own water tank - i dont think this is very common as our surveyor was surprised by it... we like to keep all tanks as low as possible in winter (we are not liveaboards) so often run out which currently means i have to isolate both pumps until i fill up the one thats emptied..... I've done it now on the main pump and it works well, with a light on the switch so i can also see at a glance if the pump circuit is live "unnecessary complication" is also my middle name...
  17. I've often wondered this. Some Victron kit states having 2 x 50mm2 cables each for positive and negative... often wondered if 1 x 95mm2 would be so wrong here?
  18. one report did mention they are evaluating the size of the pipework after repeated problems....
  19. Hi all I'm on CRT notification for several routes and recently I'm getting two of three notifications a day about Elsans being out of service, often repeatedly - seems to be much more common in recent months. Is someone doing the rounds abusing the equipment or is this just general maintenance?... it almost makes me glad not to use them since they are often not working... is this why people have multiple cassettes - just in case? As an aside, what an awful job sorting these out!
  20. Without an indicator its probably not going to be too pretty! I would guess that when you flush it starts to come back??
  21. belts and both types of morse cables....
