  1. Usually its 30 years but can depend on the insurer. I don't think a survey is a big deal anyway get it done when you get the blacking done. But entirely down to you but just stating my opinion
  2. All seem over priced to me. I also don't really like any of them so I can't give a proper opinion. My advise is don't be so set on such a new boat go a bit earlier in age and you will get a better deal you just need to do your surveys.
  3. I am looking to get rid of my Kelvin P4R just posting here in case anyone is after one for parts or to repair. It runs and propels our 70ft boat ok but its not running well. Needs some work but its out of my league and I am wanting to replace it with an electric motor. If your interested and want to see it running I am at Northwich so send me a message.
  4. You just need to measure how big you want the windows and get someone to cut the holes and have a window company make the windows to size and then fit them in.
  5. A trader license to me implies a Business so selling some personal stuff to me means you should be ok.
  6. I will adopt the lock chamber of the Runcorn and Weston canal then
  7. Basically you were nearly there but back to front. If your motor was 20ft and butty 50ft then yes it would have worked...
  8. Butty needs to be 50ft or more to qualify for the discount unfortunately.
  9. The majority who move it makes sense. Anyway I'm done on this topic not here to argue with people.
  10. Yes I did that originally and wasn't as good. Was worth paying the extra to do it this way.
  11. I wrote that parallel is better whats not to understand. I ain't got time to argue with you lot if you want to do series that is your choice but i have tried both and have more solar than any boat on the canal so know what is best.
  12. and matty i wasn't giving you advise
  13. From experience I have mppt and mine were in series but much better in parallel simple. series not great on a boat only takes a bit of shade on 1 panel to ruin performance across the whole array
  14. If 12v you want to do it in parallel trust me.
  15. Mine is nice and wooden top. I agree that it needs regular maintenance compared to a steel boat. New leaks appear throughout the seasons.
  16. Wouldn't buy unseen as photos always show the good sides and hide the bad. The 1st boat would be what I'd look at looks full of character.
  17. Looks a bit rough on the edges but wouldn't take to much to make it a nice looking boat. Stop turning your noses up and get back to polishing your mushrooms.
  18. I enjoyed my towing I did was such an experience. 45ft towing a 70ft
  19. Congratulation. We've just had done this ourselves. Hes 2 months old now. We are on a marina and its all good. We are going cruising soon. Its good your on a marina it will make things much easier. Not really anymore advise to give as health visitor and midwife will come to you just as they would in a house. You will certainly worry much more than you used to
  20. Where is your flat? you can send me details by PM if you prefer.
  21. One of my favourite movies. Its a bit OTT though.
  22. Interesting one here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/house-boat-barge-business-opportunitie-ex-party-trip-boat-/172488407532?hash=item28291c39ec:g:2MEAAOSwnHZYfB7J
