  1. Hi Tony, No double glazing i see what you mean about drilling in situ i will have to remove them to re-seal them so will have a better look then think i will use puraflex 40 as i am impressed how it sealed my roof vent

  3. Hi All, These are the leaky windows on my boat which i am still in the process of trying to seal but i notice there are no drain holes/vents in them? can i add some or are they supposed to be without them as most boat windows i have seen seem to have them??
  4. My old boat had a Ford Transit 2.5 di (banana engine) fitted started first time every time it has no glow plugs obviously these engines were for road vehicles so would need marinising my new old boat has a BMC 1500 fitted good luck with your choice

  10. Here is my Hancock and Lane built in 1980 not pretty at the moment as i am doing a refit and trying to temporarily seal the leaky windows but she does seem pretty solid still after nearly 40 years

My problem is my tiller arm is too long on my Cruiser stern so i will be shortening it shortly as i like to stand in front of the tiller and be able to reach the throttle on my left as i cannot use my right arm due to not having one not to the side of the tiller everyone to there own i suppose

  14. Thanks for all the advice very much appreciated so its 3/8 all the way and now to my next question where do i buy the 3/8 fittings to convert the Alde Bubble Tester to imperial and whats part number?

  16. Dont want to do the risky bit so its 3/8 end of as i did initially fit 8mm which i had to rip out due to not exceptable

Hi All, I am about to replace the old gas pipe in my boat as it has many joints in the system i am being told i have to use 3/8 copper pipe as there will be two appliances ie a cooker and water heater could i use 10mm pipe and will this satisfy the boat inspector? it seems very difficult to find 3/8 pipe where as 10mm can be bought nearly everywhere any advice very much appreciated thanks in advance

  20. I'm only doing behind my sink unit as the rest of the boat is insulated with Extratherm and rockwool so a couple of rolls of the cheap insulation will do as a moisture barrier from the cold steel behind the pipework etc
  21. The previous owner covered two vents one of which i will also be removing if it ever stops raining yes they survived

Hi All, After discovering many leaks on my boat firstly from the windows then above the windows so i decided to investigate the roof vents this is what i found who in the right mind would fit these and more importantly cover them with roof lining and insulation when they are there for a reason and they were leaking very badly as can be seen after the many drill/screw holes left unsealed the mind boggles
