I would always be returning to the Marina for 3 nights a week and sleeping in it apart from summer holidays where we would be doing lots of miles per day, i just dont want to buy a boat and not use it. Might as well buy and static caravan LOL Boat Hunting is going pretty shit, we are still waiting for money to land which is a certain. We could not go to whilton on Saturday, and looking on ABNB this afternoon their were lots of deposits taken. I rekon we would of bought ECHO the tug if we had the readys in place.

To be honest all the horror storys ive read on this forum have made me think this way, and that why i would record the phone conversation. We have visited the Marina's already a few times and spoken to lots of Boaters who say its lovely in that area. I would feel a bit cheaky asking them if they were overstaying LOL

Thanks Jenlyn, as a new person to the Canals i have done lots of reading but they dont exactly make the rules simple to understand. Their is too much red tape and yer but no buts. I will speak to Crt and record the telephone call. Thank you Thanks, guess i should paint my boat camo. It just seems like the Crt are confused themselves, and make it up as they go along. I just want to do things right but its just a mindfield.

I really need some advice please, I will be staying in a Residential Marina and paying council tax for at least 12 months, but i plan to stay out of the Marina for at least 3-4 nights a week. I plan to moor up within a 10 mile radius while out of the Marina pretty much most of the year for 3-4 nights apart from when we go on long 2 week adventures with mum and dad. The Question i want to ask is am i allowed to moor up on a towpath that has no maximum stay signs for 3-4 nights a week and keep moving around within that 10 mile radius. i would not be staying for anywhere near 14 nights in one spot on my own while out of the Marina. I hope i have not confused anyone.

Yer they definitely consume your money as well, its like you fix one thing then you find something else. they always put a smile on our face though. The Best Landrover i had was a series 3 lightweight with a v8, its was rediculous fun to drive. Hopefully getting a boat will have the same effect though just a tad slower lol Sadly the proper landrovers wont be built soon as they are fazing out the 90/110's, the Uk Military dont want them now. Mental Health Issues can break up a very loving family, the truth is its not easy for the familys either. I ended up homeless and i did not see my mum/dad and sisters for over 2 years, thank god we are all back together now and things are Brilliant. Something has to change, the amount of NHS Funding Cuts in the Mental Health Sector is shocking, they dont have enough beds so they cant Section someone who really needs to be in Hospital. 3 Years ago i got sectioned by the poilice on a 136 while mentally unwell, they did not even take me to Hospital because their were no Beds available, instead i was hancuffed stripped completely naked and left in a prison cell for 16 hours until they found a hostpial bed. Its all wrong treating the unwell like criminals .................. I am doing really well now, and soon to be discharged from the MH system

Niel and Robbo thats the way i see it as well, and thats what i want it to be as well, i am hoping having a narrowboat is like having a landrover in many ways. I will get some some lower end breakdown cover, but hopefully i will have some new freinds where we can help each other out as well.

All part of the fun, some may think differently but if having a boat means I can tinker with stuff I cant wait. just as long as its not £big money issues. this thread is turning into a steptoe and son moment lol Thanks.

Thanks I am pretty competent with the spanners but if it was something serious I would like a piece of mind having cover. I guess this is why its good to make freinds on the canal so we can tow each other back into the Marina's

I recon they do loose their lustre, I saw a boat named 'shouting end' on saturday.

I did quite well over the weekend and kept with the clown look. What do you mean Athy is my makeup smudge? Lol
