  1. Ooh Mafster....you can't say what you think here ! The regulars will have a bonfire and not in a good way Rog
  2. It's been ten years since we bought ours. My jaw is really hurting now. Rog
  3. Booked into Liverpool in May. Never been and quite giddy. Rog

  5. I purchased from Wilko some 'wheelie bin' sticky backed vinyl numbers to put me on after doing a bit of cabin side touching up (not a euphamism). They were less than £5 by a goodly bit. Three years later they're still on and in perfect condition. One day I'll get round to painting them on.....honest Rog
  6. We've owned our boat for over 10 years, and it was first built in 1993 by Colecraft. We don't drink the tank water unless it's been boiled. We have experienced no problem, and long may that continue. When we do experience a problem we will respond appropriately. Everything will be alright in the end.... and if it's not alright it's not the end. Boating's about going with the flow.... enjoy and save up Rog

  8. I received an e mail in December inviting my thoughts on the proposals as part of the consultation process. I don't suppose you can invite everyone to respond.
  9. Security of our boat used to be a worry for me. Were the doors and rear slide a weak point ? Curtains left closed or open ? How strong are our padlocks ? Then having left the boat at Braunston overnight and unattended we suffered a burglary. They totally smashed a window to gain access and left by the same route with a lot of stuff ! Wrong place, wrong time...and if the boat is unattended you're at risk whatever the security issues. Funny, cos when it comes to winning the lottery I never get picked !
  10. We have frequently moored in Jericho opposite College Cruisers yard. Very pleasant to be able to stroll into town. It's usually 48 hr moorings, but I believe in winter this is extended (or have I just over stayed). St Barnabus church bells are delightful.
  11. Thanks for the swift info. Obviously the request for a survey is something I can look forward to in the future. The boat is blacked every two years so if advance warning is given (as is suggested above) it won't be a huge issue. By the way my broker is Nautical Insurance and the policy is with Zurich, however it was the general principle that was of interest, rather than any specifics. Thanks again
  12. I have owned my Colecraft narrow boat (built in 1993) for ten years. I was advised at the time of purchase, that once the boat reached 20 years of age, it was likely that I would be required to have the hull surveyed again as a condition of obtaining insurance. As the boat's twentieth birthday approached, I conducted a 'straw poll' of owners, but have yet to meet anyone who has had such a condition imposed on them. I have insured the boat again for my eleventh year without any such requirement. My question is, has anyone experienced this situation, and at what age ? (The boat that is ) Thanks
  13. Thank you for the helpful information, and the welcome.
  14. Could anyone recommend visitor moorings on the canal in Worcester please. Conversely are there any moorings to be avoided ?
