Looks like you could put a plate over the crack and rivet both parts together even after braising

I don’t know if it helps but you can buy tar remover to remove road tar off car paint

We have done the same trip as you are doing twice and loved every minute of it as others have said be careful and have a great time the only difference is we did it in June/ July Graham

Hi Stroudwater It looks like you are into cars and racing so am I for about 12 years I raced all over the country at different tracks doing car grass track . after that I built a road going lotus 7 type car and had that for about 10 years going to different shows until I hurt my back . do you have any more photos of your collection Graham

Plaque are in there new home the summer house

We normally get them from chandlers on the way around the canals we go on but if you want to cheat there on the net all you would ever want Graham There you go

There was on a coffee table to take the photo . but now moved into the summer house I made last year when I retire from working 😀😎

Hi I have been to pocklinton head a few times as I only live about 20 miles from there it’s a very nice walk along the cut with the dog But I have never been buy boat it’s not passable all the way with some locks dilapidated The plaques are nice to have just as a reminder where you have been over the years Graham

No screws in the original photo but there is now I have started to put them in my summer house

The only reason I put them vertical is because I am a vehicle body builder and all screws on the out side of a truck body where vertical so water ran out the slots to help stop them rotting Graham

So do you think the screws should be vertical or horizontal? iv done mine vertical 🤪
