  1. We changed the name of our boat and 8 months later I got 2 warnings on the Canalworld forums. So, yes, it is bad luck.
  2. Surely you mean 6000 Pounds/year for a morring in London? Even in Oxfordshire it's 1768/year for an 'agricultural mooring' just to the north of Cropredy - for a 40-foot boat.
  3. Interesting, that, Mac! I wonder what the yard will feel like in June. Rather an historic occasion.
  4. I think CRT will be swinging into action as hirers of boats will be on the L&L in plenty this Summer and will be mightily unhappy at spending all those thousands for a boating holiday.
  5. If Peel Holdings refuse to respond to communication, how can they fine you and take you to court?

  15. And that company would be..... ? Always good to know these things, and the reasons they behave like this.

  17. And all this profit could have been Manchester Council's to pump into decent housing for its population, and health services, education, decent roads, etc. Has Manchester shot itself and its citizens in the foot? It would be nice to know about the cosy relationship that Manchester has with a company that avoids tax like the plague and yet sucks up public funding - but I suspect transparency is a dirty word. - - - - - - "Last bit, someone commented on C&RT boats moored after Preston Brook being off the Bridgewater, as far as I'm aware the Bridgewater arm goes to the tunnel on the north side of the tunnel, I believe the (late and much lamented) member of this forum, Tim Leech told me that the ownership of the tunnel changed from BCC to BW after the collapse when BW did the repairs in return from the ownership." Canal Planner (excellent site by the way!) says: Preston Brook: Junction of Trent and Mersey Canal and Bridgewater Canal (Preston Brook Branch) - immediately north of Preston Brook Tunnel
  18. ??? Deansgate station is much nearer to Lock 92 than Piccadilly. But maybe Dean's boat is parked upstream. Perhaps he should change his name to Piccadilly then?

  21. I couldn't help noticing DeanS's nearest railway station is DEANSgate! Some co-incidence? THE SECRET LIFE OF THE ROCHDALE CANAL - THE SEWER OF MANCHESTER: In this video, we may get a sore bum and feel a bit dizzy, but he does ride past Lock 92 and it does give a pretty good idea of what we're all talking about:
  22. It's actually one of the ugliest towns I have ever been to. Sorry, folks, but the Shakespeare nonsense is blinding you all. Stratford-upon-Avon is an eyesore. Whitby, Richmond (North Yorks), Tenby - try these instead.
  23. Please! Young children read these forums, and what you have said is horrible!
