  1. Fire Brigade hose drops, so that they could drop suction hoses into the canal to provide a ready and easily accessed water supply.
  2. Err?? You have suggested using AFFF, and funnily enough that is AQUEOUS (water!!) foam. And whilst electricity might not burn, it starts fires and doesn't disappear when the fire is raging.
  3. Who issues that guidance and where is it published?
  4. They are very few, not in any particular place, and very rare so stop worrying about it and get out there and actually use your boat!

  7. Funny that everyone else seems to understand their relevance to this discussion.
  8. Which goes to prove you don't understand statistics. And you accused me of not understanding discussion forums!
  9. Your reply suggests you know nothing about the work a Candidates Political Agent did. It was not just at election time but for long periods both before and after the election. And I also begin to wonder whether you understand how statistics work and how they are used. The figures quoted are exactly the same for a referendum as they would be for a normal election. The figures from YouGov have nothng to do with whether you are for or against Brexit. They have no "side" and no-one here has used them to show anything other than FACTS. Sorry but you really need to stop thinking everything is a conspiracy and the so-called "elite" are out to get YOU. Frankly they are not the thoughts of a thinking adult. Because the question was asked and some of us find them interesting. Just because you don't doesn't mean they shouldn't be.
  10. One thing is missing from all those OS map references given above, and that is the first 2 letters before the figures, showing the relevant 100sq k square you are in. Not stating that means you could be anywhere in the country. The only one that works as such is Jerra's link.
  11. Sinister? You have to be joking? Statistics on voting patterns, be they by age, gender, socio-economic standing, race and other ways have been done for years. I can remember my father, as a Candidates Political Agent doing exactly the same thing during elections in the 60's and 70's, using information from canvassers, exit polls and even street directories. The figures quoted earlier were taken from numerous polls raised by YouGov, which isn't even an official body. In my father's case they were used to sort out which areas needed to be canvassed in the future or whether certain leaflet drops should be made instead. You should stop looking for conspiracies. There is nothing sinister here.
  12. So now you insult me. I will repeat myself: You made an incorrect statement; I corrected you. You have made numerous accusatons about what you call the "elite" but fail to answer who they are supposed to be. There was no rudeness or obnoxious comment. So yes, it does appear that you have a chip on your shoulder about this so called "elite". Still your attacking me because I disagree with you is nothing new, is it? Becaause someone asked if the information was available, which it was on the independent YouGov website. Nothing more than that, but you have jumped in with some ridiculous suggestion.
  13. No one here has suggested such as scheme.

  15. So not exactly common. You can add 2 to that; the 2 on Sunday opening of pubs in Wales.
  16. No it isn't, other than by our ant-elitist member.
  17. Rubbish! We have hardly ever used referendums in this country. It isn't part of our political system. And as usual you have to start spouting about "the elite". How big is the chip on your shoulder?
  18. Do we? Any figures to prove that? It is because it isn't just a dye any more, but also a chemical marker.
  19. Really? I'd love to see your evidence for that, since everything I have seen implies they just moored on the towpath side, unless loading at an off-side facility.
  20. Since the subject matter as stated is much too wide a field, I think we might need more information.
  21. Just booked to do the Duoro in 2019, so looking forward to that lock.

  23. Not helped by being the HQ of Yves Rocher! Well known in the area as being a bit "rich"!
  24. Know exactly where you are! Thought the bar I mentioned was open on a Sunday, as I thought we went in there then.
