    Ahh yes! To add two isolator switches and a relay system would cost a lot less than a management system though would it not?

    I dont think you can bypass the filter as the plug on the end of your cable coming from your router will be smaller than your phone socket plug...

    by the sounds of it though he has got it wrong and now has flat batterys, so an automatic relay system is the way forward...

    He could just dump the switch and replace with a relay to creat a split charge relay? Saves remembering to switch over.....

    You have to open internet explorer, then at the top of the window should be a little blue circle with a question mark in it? Click it and selecet about internet explorer... This is on 8, if your on an older version, then it would be in the drop down boxes at the top of the window maybe?

    You should never need to use a CD that comes with a router. Or modem!

    Thats why you leave it for a month, usually when they release an update and it then goes worng, they will release a patch/fix/further update. At a domain level its the best pratice... so no reason why it should not be so at a personal level.

    I wise man, but you should always review and update where possible, maybe leaving a month before allowing the update...

    Oh the joys of windows updates, they did this a couple of years ago with two office 2003 updates, when you opened excel it crippled your pc.. Had to uninstall from 30 work pcs manually as the WSUS couldnt do it.

    I am all for debate, but lowering tones to that of my teenage kids at home doesnt really feel right on an adult forum!
