  1. You hit the nail on the head with the last part, its geared for risk analysis in engineering, manufacturing, as in risk of failure, not risk of injury or death.

  3. Not really relevant though to risk taking though is it?
  4. Would rather stand in front of a wide beam being launched....
  5. Just checked my phone numbers and thats the same fella i had out to service mine, nice bloke and can recommend. Like i mentioned earlier though, he charges for travelling at £50/hour so might bump the cost up somewhat to visit you up north.
  6. Thought it was only a lease?
  7. the fella that comes out for Graham cutmore charged £50/hour, so travelling from northants might cost a bit before he gets started.

  10. And another marina that never was... Hawkesbury marina. http://apps.nuneatonandbedworth.gov.uk/BT_NBBC_Planning/planning/documents/2012-03-23 P031405-42 Design and Access Statement.pdf I actually never knew there was golf course there and i have been past it a lot, ok its not a golf course anymore, more of a dog walking field. Seems a decent place for a marina.
  11. Guess they are taking that big barge over to france after all!
  12. ahhh so maybe a private marina to put the boats they hire out to crt? Some more pennies drop in my head... The boat from this thread is owned by Rothen, which was moored a little further up towards atherstone, also it was moored at atherstone top lock some years ago, and rothen also use to own/run the yard there!
  13. Thats the one, wonder why it never got opened then! Same as the one on the ashby at burton hastings, although there is usually a digger driving around that one.
  14. dont think so, looked a while ago on google earth i think, where you can go back in time and its a new hole... This map from mid last century doesnt show it either. http://maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/#zoom=17&lat=52.5584&lon=-1.5323&layers=10&b=1
  15. Often wonder about this place when i pass, would think someone at some time was hoping to open a marina, but then the shape is not very fitting, so maybe it was a fishing pond... Never see anyone in there fishing when i pass though. Any ideas? https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.5589571,-1.530712,414m/data=!3m1!1e3
  16. Hmm yes it doesnt appear to be the moorings, just everything else, not sure what this means though. Offered on a new lease on terms to be agreed
  17. Just spotted this, a lovely little marina that i would love to own and run, maybe my numbers will come up on the euros tonight!! https://uk.businessesforsale.com/uk/marina-workshop-servicing-and-retail-business-for-sale.aspx
  18. Sorry, just to check, thats lift out the canal, drop at your yard then drop back in the canal?

  20. Have you seen which reviews he missed off, six of them, and none of those three would make them look any worse. Some are from people who enjoy the job.
  21. There is a stove shop up at Hoar park, about 20 minute drive from Monkeys mooring if you are there. http://www.hoar-park.co.uk/ http://www.thewoodburnercompany.co.uk/ Or central stoves down in Nuneaton. http://www.centralstoves.co.uk/ Not sure if i have ever seen one in Atherstone, but Tamworth would be wroth a google.
