  1. If you need legal representation O.J. Simpson had a fairly good team.
  2. Just to update - batteries stayed topped up, after 3 months (end of december) I waited in trepidation for the first bill. Kept asking at every visit, finally got told the other day that they don’t send out bills for under £1 ! So although there is a fairly small solar setup, together with the mains charger it is doing well - I can cope with 70p every 3 months. Cheap peace of mind.
  3. Any informed guesstimates on when it will be open?

  5. That must be the wrong type of soil.................................
  6. Could be they are concerned about further slippage which would be H & S worry! It does not look like an easy place to get any big equipment in plus no winding hole to the south for a long way.
  7. We went up that way last year - not particularly pleasant, and the locks were in an appalling condition after Knowle Hill.
  8. We were hoping to go that way early April - if it’s not open it will mean going through Leicester up the Soar and then Trent & Mersey to Fazeley. Will take about the same time (Debdale to Fazeley) but not looking forward to the Soar in April!
  9. Have a look at Lockgate Stoves website. I have a 1 metre double walled chimney with downdraft cowl (not the H type) and the fire burns superbly and has never been affected by high wind - even the recent 50mph plus we have had.
  10. Superglue them together - although it might be easier to just keep a pound in your pocket!
  11. I was surprised at the volunteer locky who congratulated me on the DM2 I had - I always thought it was a BD3. And he was looking into the engine room when he said it!
  12. I think being retained by the present owner. Only glanced at the detail, but looks like the main building (not the warehouse) is also already spoken for.
  13. It looks from the detail that the basin itself is not included.
  14. Maybe it was, but they were prepared to put up with it! Who knows, maybe some highly placed incompetent at the T & S saw somebody doing it, didn’t understand, took nobody’s opinion, and just banned it as it appeared to be heavy handed / lazy etc.
  15. Maybe a minority were a bit exuberant regarding speed coming in, which must eventually damage the gate.

  18. ^^^^ I think its the ropework that is better

  20. Have you confirmed electricity getting to the pump? Fuses / breakers ok? (Don’t throw away the old pump till you find out the problem).
  21. If your ‘working’ life is only 3 days a week, and you are coping financially, I’d say you have life cracked already!
  22. You also need to do a “time” audit. You are studying, also working so I assume not much spare time - there will be regular necessary jobs to do on a boat, water, effluent, maintenance etc. Do you have time for a boat?
  23. Interesting prop/rudder arrangement - does it rotate enough to give a stern thruster type push?
  24. Restrict your boat search to those with a minimum 6’ well deck - plenty of room to store and secure a bike. And easy to get it on and off the boat
