  1. I've always found ebay to be expensive Check out the prices here: http://www.fireplaceproducts.co.uk/accessories/stove-ecofans/ They're usually the cheapest around
  2. That's also a sh1t load of water to 'loose'

  4. Sound advice from Richard Dock you boat regularly....... and if you don't feel competent to check the hull youself, get a surveyor. Don't rely on the boat yard to tell you. You've paid for the docking/slipping/craning, a surveyor will cost you an extra £300, but he'll do the job properly. Craning would only be a risk if your boat was already structurally compromised and the hull waffer thin
  5. I sorry, but I don't see how this is the boat yards fault He was very clear in his instructions about what he wanted the yard to do. Grit balst and two pack the hull, re pack the stern gland, check the prop, rudder and anodes No where did he ask for a hull survey. It's up to the owner to ascertain the hull condition. The yard could well not have known that the hull had been compromised. A small hole at the bottom of a pit is not always easy to see and if the hull was already fairly pitted, they're not going to spend time going round every pit to check.
  6. Never put your beer in the fridge ......... it's just wrong!
  7. Well done Alan I did a similar thing yesterday and paid the balance on my new 'old boat'. Not quite as old as yours though
  8. I got my gold licence renewal a couple of weeks back

  10. Couldn't be much further away if it tried Aberdeenshire!
  11. Or Chinese? Pipped at the post by MM ............. damn you've got to be quick these days
  12. Has it been marinated in multi grade or low detergent oil?
  13. What is the grammes of ash out:fuel in ratio that you get with that?
  14. There are many things that could/should be part of the BSS. Even the stuff that is on there, most of seems to be advisory My interpretation of the BSS is that it's not to protect the boat and occupant, it's to protect other (innocent) third parties and property. If you want to put yourself at risk on your own boat, as long as you don't have the potential to hurt others..... go ahead
  15. I wonder if a smoke alarm and CO detector would have saved his life? Very sad
  16. I wish you well if they honour the sale. This has happened a few times on Amazon and the vendors retracted the sale based on an incorrect listing. Fingers crossed though
  17. Are CRT doing an 'open day' for the public? They often do when one of these projects come up
  18. I've got two smoke alarms and two CO alarms A smoke and CO unit in the living area and a smoke and CO alarm in the bed room The CO alarm in the bedroom is at 'pillow level' as I figured out that's where I'd be breathing the stuff in at.
