  1. I have seen your boat at Banbury :-) our favourite place for a day out. Walk through Spice Ball Park, wander round the charity shops and lunch at Jenny's ....
  2. We have 2 slow cookers, a small one and a large one, when I cook a stew I use the large one and fill it to the top, then divide the mixture and get 4 portions each, then freeze them individually. We are having a new kitchen and will definitely get pans without long handles
  3. It is thunder and lightning and torrential rain here, I would get up and close the doors however I have 3 of the dogs snuggled up close and they are not happy with the thunder :-(
  4. That is sad to hear of your plight, hope you can find a solution that suits you. Might be a good idea to go the local council and explain your situation and see what they can do to help you. Best wishes and good luck
  5. If the one at Yelvertoft anything to go by, probably 5k plus!

  8. Don't worry, do plenty of locks and you will work up a good sweat, you can then pretend it is still summer :-)
  9. There is a clearance warehouse near us,I was wandering around and found a faux leather sofa bed with storage, it was actually part of a suite that had been returned. The other part was broken which it was why it was returned. I bought the sofa bit for £25 and now have a handy settee with storage, and it is comfortable too.
  10. I was very tempted to light the fire today, just to test the new bricks in there of course,
  11. Our landlord has a farm shop so no problems with lots of fresh veg etc, and the most delicious Gallones ice cream
  12. We bought a table top freezer this year after not having one for a couple of years and all we have in it is.... Prepared stewed apple for our porridge and frozen raspberries. We are in the process of having our kitchen refitted but probably won't keep the freezer
  13. I tried the one on RLWP and that worked, thank you very much though. Donated :-)
  14. Ah bless you, it's a horrible sensation when this happens, it happened to us on the Rothersthorpe flight Northampton and CRT were luckily aware and arrived shortly after and they opened the paddles to let water down. Took a couple of hours but we were grateful. Good luck, hope it gets sorted soon. Here on the River Nene, the level goes up and down all the time, and when it is low the tilt is horrible, we have just bought some scaffold poles to enable us to be further out from the bank,so hopefully it won't be an issue anymore. 15. The Marple flight, lovely... Beautiful scenery,
  16. Hi I know someone who moves boats, if you PM me I can give you his details
  17. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your purchase of your boat, enjoy the journey to your mooring. We picked our boat up from Apsley Marina near Hemel Hempstead and took her to Ventnor Farm Marina near Rugby, 72 miles and 69 locks, Joe had tunnel vision and just kept going :-) we left late afternoon on a Saturday and arrived at Ventnor Farm Wednesday tea time, to say I was exhausted was an understatement. I did have to have some acupuncture on my shoulder after, doing all those locks was hard but I did not feel able to steer so no other option. It was a great adventure though and thoroughly enjoyed it.
  18. Agree, we have a stove and always end up with the doors open as it gets too hot, we have radiators too but don't have them on very often
  19. Oo I have never heard a bluetit fart :-)
  20. You could always wait until you need to black your bottom and do it then if you are superstitious :-) That is your boat's bottom not yours!!
  21. If it went for 5k someone will be getting a little dream :-)
