My OH was telling me that our tank looked rusty and would need changing- he then tapped it and put his finger through it...... Fortunately it wasn't welded in -so we cleared everything out the way and lined the floor with tarpaulin- a hefty lift and we put the tank on the tarp-sealed it around the tank and outside. We half expected the base to fall out but it wasn't that bad a job in the end

We use a basic system of a cartridge under the sink and then a standard Brita filter- it won't remove bacteria but the taste is fine- especially as we chlorinate the water in the tank

. We moored there for 2 years and they didn't have visitors moorings-might be worth you checking with them For such a small place Shardlow has plenty of pubs- the New Inn became our favourite and we had many good meals there. Plenty of moorings on the canal. Enjoy.

The OH finished his phone contract with 3 18months ago and went onto a contract for £18 with 3- unlimited calls, texts, data etc- only difference is he doesnt pay for the phone bit. We have started to get calls from 3 though and avoiding them. We have found that if you ring 3 the staff are useless, but the young guy in the Burton store was brilliant- saved us money and didn't try to sell us a package with a phone that we didn't need

Ours is in the middle and is the only form of heat on a 37foot boat and it does heat the whole boat-so wouldn't change. The one downer is its opposite the fridge -so could end up moving the fridge As others say-live with it for a while

Have to confess I haven't read it yet- 30 years working in the Food Industry and 9years for the owner of the biggest Soup brand in the UK and I've never heard of condensed cheddar cheese soup- wonder if we're missing something??? Actually sounds-A bit Cheesy!! Coat on and out the door
