  5. Of course it all helps CRT with their case that they want more funding from the government to help deal with global warming. Won't get any better though but their bonuses will get bigger

Certainly the pound below Baddisley Wharf was very low 2 weeks ago. Nb Squire and I were stuck for at least 45 minutes as we tried to pass each over. Had to run water down from pound above untill the boats in the small marina started to lean. According to a boater there it has been like that for a couple of weeks
  9. Taken from the operating manual for the BD3 "The Tug engine operates over a speed range from 400 to 1300 rpm"

but the vlockies know that their is a problem at Atherstone. The gates leak. CRT have been and said that they have fixed it but according to the Vlockies there is a certain pound which still runs dry

That is as crazy as turning on the bilge pump. Yes it empties the boat of water but does not stop the leak. The answer is to fix the leaks

Surely years ago the streams were kept topped up by Water being pumped out of the coal mines.

Apparently according to a Coventry paper the Griff stream has run dry. So crt are going to open a valve at Hawksbury to allow water from the Oxford canal to top up the Coventry. Probably not helped by the building works going on around the Griff stream. Also there is now a new marina on the Coventry Canal plus 2 ABC hire bases
  20. Just be careful as sometimes you can catch your fingers on the gate beams because of the extra length on the +

I am surprised the Coventry Canal has not been affected by the stoppage as that was awfully low on water 2 days ago.
  24. So how do tripboats go through narrow locks
  25. How do you get to the bow. That only has side doors without a sliding hatch which makes it harder to get out of
