Leeds Festival this weekend

If anyone is in Leeds, the L&LC Soc are at the Leeds Waterway Festival with Kennet this weekend, in the arm which used to have the Arches Lock at the end. I will be doing a bit about wooden boatbuilding circa 1-30 on Saturday, as the canal basin was the location for Riders Boatyard, and at 2-00 on Sunday I will be leading a walk around the basin looking at surviving heritage features. It's free, though donations to help keep Kennet in good order are welcome.

Thanks for this, I think I will be showing  my face.

I'd binned Braunston and had planned a weekend in the caravan but as Leeds is not far away from where I'm now staying on Saturday its very timely.

Any tours of the Lock planned?

Not sure which lock you mean. The arches lock branch entrance from the river is difficult to get to, but my walk will include River Lock which has several historic features surviving. I have also pretty much sorted out the history of the warehouse, to explain why it had loading bays next to the lock, and why it had an internal arm.
