Smart electric cards

Has anyone on the inland marinas had there shoreline electric meters changed to the new smart meters,from the older style cards with the brown strip,if so how have you found them,higher or lower electric costs?

My understanding is that they're not allowed to profit on electric or water rates. Is this the case? If so I would have thought this would apply irrespective of the type of meter used. Can anyone confirm?

That's certainly the theory.

 

I had a landlady once who put a coin-slot meter in every room. She'd set it to four times the going rate. I reset mine to half

We have them on the new 32a supplies where I am in London however it is hard to compare as it is all Ive ever had. It is 10p per unit. As a HIGH use liveaboard we get through about £20 per month, some months less some months more.

Are we talking about the CRT Smart Metered electricity pillars as administered by MeterMacs? Or some private marina system?
