  1. Has anyone on the inland marinas had there shoreline electric meters changed to the new smart meters, from the older style cards with the brown strip,if so how have you found them, higher or lower electric costs?
  2. Hi,I've painted my current boat and the previous boat inside with Dulux Satinwood NOT the water based one,but the spirt based paint,it goes on very well a great finish is hard wearing and easy to clean, just ensure what ever is being painted is flattened off to give a key.ive done the ceilings right through and under the gunnels, the only thing it's 16 hours between coats, and a light sand between coats as well lasts for years Dulux decorator Centre will mix most colors. And No I have no connection with Dulux in anyway
  3. Yes I would agree with that, the first one went after 6 years the next lasted two years, which I managed to get one that dident have the ECU with it so it was a lot cheaper,so the question is how many poor batches are there!? The one I have just fitted is a used one that cost me £25. Webasto as usual have had very poor customer service, when I made enquirerys about the issue,as it was out of warranty!. So fingers crossed this will last ? I'm also going to change the coolant, and earth the unit to the main bonding point in case it's a galvanic issue. Cheers
  4. Hi, no it's with the combustion chamber,I've been servicing my webastos for over ten years years, have you had a Webasto apart? If so I will describe it a little better if a can,as I've got rid of the porous chamber and reassembled the unit,no pics to show,if you withdraw the burner tube you can see in to the chamber which has fins down the side,at the bottom there are numerous little nodules,it has become porous in the Centre of those nodules, how I discovered it was when I switched the unit on I heard gurgling coming out of the exhaust, thought a boat had gone past and pushed water in the outlet, removed it drained the water it was fine hour later it started again!? Removed the Webasto stripped and checked noticed it was wet in the chamber,I poured water into the inlet tube blocked the outlet with my finger and blew into the inlet, low and behold water was seeping into the chamber, though you could not see the holes, this has happened twice in three years
  5. First of all hi to everyone. Has anyone come across the combustion chamber on Thermo top C becoming porous,if you imagine the combustion it has become porous at the end where the flame would hit, this is the second time this has happened? Has anyone any thoughts on this issue
