Temporary Job Opportunity - Urgent

I have received this from the BCN society email - just posting to widen the audience -

Due to a medical emergency we have to advertise the following:

Part time Temporary Caretaker Urgently required

18 hours per week, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10 a/m to 4 p/m

Salary, £7.20 per hour

Due to unforeseen circumstances the Trust urgently requires someone to look after the shop, sell diesel, coal etc and other such duties for approx the next six to eight weeks.

To date we have been able to manage the absence of either of our two part time caretakers with Volunteers, who have been able to claim the hours worked under our Volunteer Scheme. The current situation, however, is one that, given the need for three days cover each week for up to eight weeks (we anticipate), we do not consider it reasonable to rely any further at this stage on a relatively small group of people whose willingness to assist has been much appreciated and who have continued to assist the Trust by covering the absence on leave of one of our part time caretakers for the next two weeks. An eight week ‘stint’ of three days a week is, however, a big ‘ask’, hence this email.

If you feel able to take this task on for the next few weeks please get in touch with Caroline Whorton (in the first instance) or pass the message on to any member of the Governing Council so that arrangements can be made to issue the appropriate application form and arrange interview as appropriate.

The position becomes available as of this weekend so do please consider this as a matter of urgency. Full ‘shop’ training will of course be provided as well as ongoing support to the post holder.

Although the ability to work for the full six weeks or so is preferred other offers of assistance may be considered.

Please give it some thought, otherwise it means the shop being closed and loss of service to customers as well as revenue for the Trust.
