Phil Ambrose
Welcome aboard, firstly, where do the pipes come from? tracing them back may well answer your own question. Generally pipes passing through the bottom of the hull are usually associated with raw water cooling or to provide a supply of water for a sea toilet, maybe even an outlet for a sea toilet. What diameter are the pipes, any other clues would be helpful. Phil Edited June 12, 2016 by Phil Ambrose
MtB
They are 'sea cocks', designed for drawing sea (or canal) water into the boat then returning it to the sea (or canal). The purpose of this is usually for engine cooling, but there can be other uses. Best capped off if not connected to anything.

As per my post, old fittings like this are best capped off as MtB suggested.Phil I think that's your answer - sea-toilet removed at some time, one was fresh water in, the other not-so-fresh out. Murflynn
is the boat afloat? if so, open the sea cocks and see what happens - you'll soon find out what they are for
Giant
They are for scuttling the boat to avoid it being captured and used by the enemy, of course.
