Even though the checkbox 'Remember Me' is always selected, whenever I open up a new session/go to the forum from favs, the username and password are always blank. This doesn't happen with other sites. Have looked through the site settings as well as iPad settings but can't seem to find anything relevant.

Any ideas?

Cheers

Is your browser set to clear cookies at the end of each browsing session?

Just noticed the iPad reference.

If you are using Safari to browse check you are allowing cookies.

Settings > Safari > Privacy and security > Block cookies.

Still can't seem to sign out - no cookies, firefoxes or anything - just strange things happening in my personal email.

Perhaps one of the Mods (or members!!!) can "terminate" me - which will probably suit a lot of the people on here ......... !!!

Thank you and goodnight x

Cookies always allowed. As mentioned, only appears to be this site.

Well just to mention that I use an iPad and it is permanently logged in, so it is not an intrinsic problem with the site or with the iPad. My best suggestion is to clear all web site data (cookies) which will probably fix the problem, but on the other hand you will lose all the other login cookies for other sites! So just delete the cookies for canalworld.net which you can do, although there is a lot of scrolling to do to get to the right domain name.

Which browser?

OK I can only go on anecdotal reports from others, since none of the tech team have an Apple device, but basically Safari doesn't conform to the same standards as other browsers so the forum software doesn't fully work in it. Others have recommended an alternate browser such as Firefox.

FWIW it works fine on my iPad using iOS ver - 9.2.1 (13D15)

I can leave the forum close Safari re-open Safari and visit the forum and it remembers me.

Is the OP using the very latest iOS version I wonder? (as above)

go to-

Settings > general > about > version

IOS 9.2, avoiding 9.2.1 at the moment but as this is a very recent upgrade, it's not relative. Cleared the cookie from website data but made no difference. Am an ex analyst-programmer and it's very odd!

I'll butt out then.

Fixed. For some reason, it wasn't saving the info to settings/safari/passwords so created a new entry. Interestingly, there were usernames and passwords for some sites (financial) that I wasn't aware of, especially as I never select 'remember' for any sensitive information!
