Sounds a bit like the Ellesmere Arm, without the security. There are rings right up to the end, but if a boat is moored right at the end it makes winding quite tricky, especially, as is often the case, there is a bit of a breeze blowing down the arm.

 

The last 20 or 30 metres really ought to have the rings removed.

they have been but crt / the developers have extended the turning area into the bit with mooring rings so there is about 50m to turn in.

when the basin first opened the developers "sale" / "office" barge was here and there was no issues turning. They really dont want boats
