Does anyone know the name of the antenna adapter to fit onto the antenna socket on a 6310i, please?

The last one I bought came off the internet and before that boaters phone co. I still use it on the boat but am at home at the moment.

I can find them listed for the States http://www.amazon.com/External-Antenna-Adapter-Cable-Connector/dp/B008UU9TB8

Information no longer needed as a fellow moorer on the marina recently retired his old and knackered 6310i and as he had no interest in replacing it, gave me his adapter.

We now have phone access, on the boat, courtesy of my "outdated" 6310i which has held a charge for about six months, and a fellow boater.

Shame that Nokia stopped producing them. There are a number still around in everyday use and some like Brian and me who have occasional but much appreciated use.

ETA an adaptation?

Linda and me still have our 6310i's, they are indestructible. Mine dates from 2002, with it's original battery. It looks like one may well be retired as my daughter has just "cast off" her Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini. I have just spent a fruitless morning trying to extract the numbers of my 6310i using an abandoned Dell xp laptop with bluetooth / Nokia data suite, seeing has I have not got any pc / laptop with a COM port, to use my ancient Nokia lead, a leftover from the good old days when I could be bothered to do "mobile internet" mellow.png

I still have a com to usb adapter that I used to access the internet using the 6310i back in the days of GPRS. I cannot put my hands straight on it as, sadly, it is in the maelstrom we call storage but we will shortly be diving in to sort it all out.

If it will be of use to you, you can have it FOC, when we find it. Let me know. And don't abandon the 6310i, you never know.

Thanks for the offer Rich, But I do have the COM to Nokia lead. The problem is since I scrapped Mrs TNC's troublesome win xp pc some 3 months ago, we do not have a pc / laptop in the hose with a COM port! I am still trying to sort out the Bluetooth drivers on an elderly Dell. If that does not work, then I will get a COM to USB adapter for my Nokia lead. As for our 6310i's we will not be getting rid of them, it is just that we are getting of a certain age, that if we do not master a smart phone, we will be doomed!

Errr, it was the com to usb adapter I was offering.

Sorry, my misread!

...anyroad, I have done it by convoluted route. I updated my Thunderbird contacts, with phone number changes (I had forgotten that most were in there) and saved this as a .csv file. I then got a gmail account (you really have to with those smartfone thingies) and added contacts to gmail from .csv file. Then as if by magic, when I logged onto gmail account on smartfone, it transferred all contacts info across. If it carries on being this easy, I will be posting from the boats again! ohmy.png

Wow, we had one of those phones about 15 years ago, in fact we still have it living in s drawer. It still works and the battery still holds a charge.

Phil

They were the 'business phone of choice' at one time, I used to have one too.

They were/are pretty bomb proof and you can even still buy bits for them and get them repaired by specialists.
