The final 2 Angry Boater shows in the run - this Tues, March 10th plus 17th at The Barge House, Haggerston.

If you've been already, my latest blog might be of interest. It's about the show - the process of making it happen, the ups & downs + a few memorable highlights.

Despite my current bucolic abode I did live in central London for a number of years and got to know many parts of it, but no Haggerston back then, and certainly no De Beauvoir (I can imagine what Ricky Tomlinson, in his Mr. Royle character, would have to say about that).

I am trying to remember the name which locals gave to the area where I lived during most of my London days. It was basically the part between Hyde Park and Regent's Park, and was known as -------- Village. It's on the tip of my tongue...Seymour Village, maybe.

On the contrary De Beauvoir Town is a long established area of Hackney/Hoxton comprising streets of stunning Dutch style houses.

When I worked on the 'Hackney Gazette' in the early 70s I knew it well - I think it was all part of a big leasehold estate.

There is currently a small audience for tomorrow's 'Angry Boater' show at The Barge House in Haggerston. The First Law of Economics states that demand increases when the price drops. Let's see.

I've been revamping the show all week and, tomorrow, I'm trying it in a new way for the first time. Might improve it. Could be messy.

If you've booked to see the show before and would like to come again this Tuesday, please PM me with your previous booking details and I'll have a pair of freebies waiting for you.

If you haven't seen it before and would like to come tomorrow, for every ticket you book, I'll give you another one for free.. Just PM me here after you've booked so I know to make the amendment. The offer is for online bookings only.

Elton John never does this.

Sadly Tuesday is one of my working evenings.

Pleased to hear it's been going well. Good luck with it (sorry... break a leg with it) when you take it up-country; you never know, depending where you go and when we go we might be able to catch you there (says he optimistically).
