Some observations on Lister SR pistons

I've been stripping down a couple of SR2 engines of my own, I thought I would share some pictures

 

Piston 1:

 

 

A nice clean piston with a pretty uniform black colour from the combustion process in the central chamber. Some slight discolouration. This is excellent

 

Piston 2:

 

 

Ignoring the debris which will have fallen in during dismantling, there is more discolouration on this piston. I would be interested to see what the spray pattern was for the relevant injector. Even so, this probably ran fine

 

Piston 3:

 

 

Sunk!
