Tree STOPPAGES

Dear All,

 

Cowley South we have a tree 1/2 - 3/4 of the way across the canal, fell between two boats, although there was some scratching of paintwork on one of them, lucky escape. It is probably impassable for wide beams but narrow boats will be ok.

We have a tree down by bridge 189, slightly obstructing the canal (for wide beams that is). Have reported it to the landlord who will arrange for it to be removed today.

A Beech Tree has come down near/close to the Bridgewater Canal. Not sure whether it's actually blocking the way. It's at the Barn Owl pub, in Agden, Lymm in Cheshire.

The nice bit is that all BW have to do with these trees is haul them out of the cut and leave them, within a week they will be neatly cut up and touring the system on someones roof.

Quite right - plenty of choppies for boaters - There's a massive tree fallen onto the cut at Little Venice yesterday - the canal channel is clear now but towpath still obstructed - and looks set to be blocked for the whole weekend unless yous get your stoves blazing and roofs stacked wiv logs!

Possably not, but they may well be living on aboard, and/or need to move there boat shortly. Even if not, you dont really want a tree writing off your pride and joy!
