I've just lost jaws lol.

 

Messing about with light gear, breadpaste and size 16 hook on a canal I hooked a carp. I lost him 20 mins later 141 yards from where I hooked him.

 

I did see him - upper double I reckon. May have scraped 20.

 

Ah well! well done carp I only wanted to look at you and slip you back (I've had a lot bigger lol).

Similar thing happened to me last week. It was too big for my landing net, I wasn't expecting anything big...

 

(I realise that it should be on an un-hooking mat, but I didn't have one as I was only fishing for tiddlers)
