I used Sketchup to rough out some initial ideas about layouts, etc., when planning my fit out.

Years ago I came across a programme that allowed you to insert cupboards,sink,units,WC, wardrobes etc. with in a scaled hull.

 

No idea where I found it, just thought someone may know. Perhaps I didn't ask the right question.

We found Google SketchUp easy to use, and it certainly helped us visualise what changes we were planning might work out like.

 

We only remodelled the area around one former (short) bunkroom that we got rid of. but it would be easy to use for a whole boat, if you wanted.

 

Mind you, I have no idea how much SketchUp may have moved on since we used it a few yeras ago - sometimes attempts to improve build in too much complexity, and spoil the ease of use of such packages by those who only need them occasionally.

SketchUp is good for 3d realisation. It's cheep too...

 

Remember to draw each part as a separate component, it makes it much easier to edit.

 

It has a great library online of components drawn by other people.
