Hi guys,

I'm trying to start planning my first trip (Wiltshire to London) and was wondering if there are any clever tools I'm not aware of. I'm using http://canalplan.eu/cgi-bin/canal.cgi and look up stoppages on the CRT interactive map http://canalrivertrust.org.uk/in-your-area

And this one for restrictions on the Thames: http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/homeandleisure/recreation/139917.aspx

Would be so handy if they were all merged into one!

Ah! - but as the three sites are owned by two different organisations, and an individual - - - so they're not likely to ever be merged !

Hey anniewhere :)

Boating would be a boring business if it was too easy! The resources out there (and here) are fantastic - I've often wondered how boaters managed before t'internet and mobile phones but they did.

Appreciate the information you have and merge it yourself :)

We did add stoppages support to Canalplan but the randomness and inconsistent nature of the email from (at the time) BW made it totally unworkable without huge amounts of manual intervention.

Once CaRTs system has settled down I may look at trying again and writing some more logic to remove the "noise" (such as closures due to fallen trees - which never ever seem to get tree removed emails)
