ROBDEN
Hi All. I recently posted alternative oil filters I have used successfully for my Vetus 4.17. Does anyone know of an alternative, to the STM 3690 fuel filter for the above engine? Thanks Rob....
Guest
I highly recommend http://www.filtermania.co.uk/ They do a Baldwin filter for the Vetus engine with a legal metal drain tap, for sensible money. They do the tiny one for the elctric pump, and the big mother by the tank too. I have been using their filters on my Vetus for some time now. I do have the number but it is on the boat, which I'm not at the moment. Edited September 27, 2013 by Guest

raymondh
Hi, Just changed filters on my Isuzu 70, paid just over £12 in total for oil, fuel pre filter and main engine fuel filter al OE spec - Lucas/Baldwin/Mann all off ebay as they are the same as Isuzu Trooper I have "saved searches " for these and buy when very cheap (just got a genuine Isuzu oil filter for £1.50 !!!) Selby boats want £49 just for the engine fuel filter - find the filter part numbers and shop around Regards Ray

I have also used these filters from there and they are a lot cheaper than vetus and as cat says they have the legal metal drain which my previous vetus one did not. last time I bought several of each as the p&p was the same, £6 the number on the main fuel filter BF1257 dos not match the invoice stock code number so from my invoice from filtermania prices are plus vat main fuel filter stock code LHF1235 £8-33 small pump filter LHF9103 £3-33 large vetus water seperater filter LHF 5870 £11-66 when you phone them up to order the chap is very helpful I think it was cat on a previous post 2 yrs ago who directed me to them, so if I did not say thanks then I do now clive
Mac of Cygnet
I use Inline filters http://www.inlinefilters.co.uk and have their invoice before me. The STM 3690 equivalent is FBW-BF1257 and cost £10.83 + VAT. However, unless you order several filters at once (of any type), the delivery bumps the price up a bit.
