  1. kinver have been to grove lock marina in bedfordshire a lot and made and fitted pramhoods to several boats here including a widebeam, also made a new cratch board and cover to the boat moored next to me. everyone looks excellent and well made. hope you guys are looking after the nice lady moored near the globe inn ? I took her to the marina to show her the standard of your work well done
  2. greenie for that last time I ran low on fuel the dosing pump sounded so much louder and it didn't start. filled up with fuel and it started on the 2nd attempt

  5. hi, I have a vanette 6000 and I have just looked through the instruction manual. there is no diagram of the ignition unit but I will type what it says. 1.5v battery size AA type hp7/lr6 or 12v dc supply. (my boat is 7 years old now so my builder must have connected to the 12v dc supply as I have never changed a battery. to connect the 12v dc supply connect the positive (+) from your 12 volt supply to the free connection tab on the hob ignition switch connect the negative(-) from your 12 volt supply to free connection of the generator position the ignition generator as far away from the appliance and other sources as the leads will allow. hope that's of some help wagers snap lol
  6. i had a very similar thing on my boat when i bought it and i also changed the mixer for a mira one thinking this will fix it but it did'nt. in the end i followed all the pipes and found another inline shut off valve that was virtually closed, turned that so the slot was in line with the pipe and problem fixed. good luck

I did not ask for the fire service here in Bedfordshire to take a couple of days at our marina, i'm sure that the crews liked the change away from there station. they asked if they could inspect my boat, I did not ask them. I did not ask for replacement smoke detectors or monoxide detector replacement. I would have paid them for replacements, there were just given and fitted. after all I had already bought and fitted what I needed. they also asked about exit from my boat in the event of a fire while on board and were happy that I could exit either at the front or back. I think it is excellent service and very thoughtful of them, part of my nearly £3000 contribution to my council taxes in Bedfordshire and my marina fees which are more. so ditchcrawler wind your b neck in please
  8. this Tuesday at my marina there was a fire tender and a few hours after getting to my boat a couple of the fire officers came along the pontoons. had a chat and they asked if they could check my boat out, which was fine by me. he came on and my monoxide detector at the front was good (only fitted it last year) and the dual smoke alarm/monoxide detector in the bedroom was 7 years old. so he fitted a smoke alarm good for 10 years and gave me a fireangel monoxide detector as well to replace the dual unit in the bedroom. great, but then asked my girlfriend and I about our houses and our smoke alarms, both ours were past there best by dates so they gave us both 2 smoke alarms for our houses as well. how good is that
  9. no you have to depress the clutch pedal to auto start and even to start the car initially. its also a pain in traffic jams and I have to turn it off

  12. to me the 2 best and most helpful posters on this site is NMEA and nicknorman NMEA has responded to a message from this site by me followed by very helpful free advice on a problem with my webasto by e-mails last year. he has also helped numerous others here with there problems and emailing a pdf of manuals for there heater to help them. he is always very quick to give the correct and most helpful advice in his own free time. please do not knock him, it would be a very sad day to see him not helping on this site wagers/clive
  13. the original topic seems to have moved away from "remote control" as I said in an earlier post I bought one and its taken until now to have it up and running wired it in and my mobile would not connect to it, nigel said that he had sent wrong sim card so he sent another. my mobile would still not connect to it even though my phone showed a 3g connection and was right next to the device. I remembered 5 years ago on the boat with my nokia that I had to get outside the boat to connect, so I ordered an external antenna and fitted that and it connected straight away. but still the device would not start my webasto. called yet again and he said I needed to link the 12v to the com on the device. so I supplied the com connection with the required 12v and it all worked. so I got there in the end and pleased that I can now turn it on before I go to the boat and better still I can text it to run for "x" time when its cold clive
