Where can I get this part from for my BMC 1.5 ??

Does anyone know where I can get this part from for my BMC 1.5...

 

 

...it's a rubber, corner part on the cooling system that connects the header tank to the pipe than goes down to the radiator.

 

My existing one has just split. And I've tried AMC but they don't do it cos it's not part of the engine...

I think it's part A or part I, but do you know what the references in the 'Type' column are?

If that is what it is, many chandlers stock them

I think that looks like the end cap for a Polar header tank, rather than a Bowman one, as in Carl's post.

It should be possible to find the part number (A3-783) moulded in to the rubber to confirm it.

 

The design is suitably crap, and they don't last many yeras before needing replacement in even a mildly pressurised system.

I have always found Calcutt Boats to be very helpful and not that expensive for BMC spares. Usually get them in post next day if you have an address.

Our engine uses the A3 783 one, but I can't be certain what you have.
