Keeping Up Posted April 2, 2012 Report Share Posted April 2, 2012 I thought resistors would not work as resistors on AC circuits, and a ~TV signal is certainly AC. More likely it is to reduce interference from other ellectical devices Resistors DO act as resistors on AC circuits. Some types will work just fine at high frequencies but other types have qualities that degrade their performance on high-frequency AC - and TV is definitely an ultra-high frequency - such as a wire-wound resistor which looks remarkably like a small coil.
