There was a police helicopter in the area on Monday looking for a 20yr old man who was missing. They were based at the garden centre nearby. Sounds like they may have found him.....

Appears to relate to the search for a missing 20yo called Thomas Haddock --- last seen on the main Rd by Kings Bromley Marina on Saturday.

 

However I know that volunteers were searching land some distance away, so it would seem that nothing has been found yet.

Can't see why the canal is closed unless they have started an underwater search.

I believe it's between wood end and shade house as my mum and dad are stuck there.

woah - thats where I was on Saturday to look at a boat! We walked down to Wood End lock as we were early!

Just an update. Was still closed at 12.00 & no further news about the young man.

 

They lowered the water in the pound yesterday & boats were sitting on the bottom but it's back to normal now. Not sure of the thinking behind that.

According to people there, They are draining the pound betwwen Shadhouse and Woodend, they have been told to untie their boats at 7 am.
