Hiring Kids Lifejackets - Possible?

Hi,

 

I've left it a bit late but my nephews aged 2 and 5 are visiting at the weekend, and would like to go for short trip on the boat.

 

Sensibly, we shouldn't do this without lifejackets, and it seems crazy to buy them.

 

Anyone any ideas whether I could hire a couple of lifejackets for a weekend. I wonder if the hire companies might do it.

 

I'm in Manchester, moored at Stretford, and could easily nip to Middlewich, Worsley, Leigh, or anywhere say 25 - 30 miles away.

 

Any suggestions welcomed

I'd try a hire boat company, they'll have them and they're not busy at this time of year so may well help. I'd expect to be asked for a deposit as well as a smallish hire charge.

I think i may have a couple on the boat. I am not down there untill thursday and will have a look . You could pick them up from lymm or cheadle.

In the end, at £21 each, I bought a couple from Midland Chandlers at Preston Brook. I was expecting them to be around £50 when I asked the question.

I had the same experience when buying one for the dog. Thought it would be about thirty quid, but picked it up for £12. Result.
