  1. Maybe that's what the hooks are for, to hang some hams?
  2. Am I right in saying that no two boats can have the same name on the Thames? It may apply just to boats moored there permanently, or any visiting boats too?
  3. Yes, I was very serious about viewing her, there is absolutely nothing that I don't like about her. Pretty much my dream boat, in fact. However, having now learnt that it is common knowledge she is where she is, and for sale, I am reluctantly changing my mind. I figure that if no one has bought her by now there must be a good reason for not doing so, and I may end up with a very expensive white elephant. There are plenty of other boats out there, I'll find the right one soon, I'm sure.
  4. Ah, thank you. I saw the advert, fell in love with her, and did some research which ended up here...

  6. Because it's very important. I wonder if Calor gas are supplying refills yet?
  7. So, how is Mrs Trusselle now? Has she got over burning the birthday cake?
  8. Yes, I think the tap at Barbridge was stopped because the nearby house owner discovered that it was coming from his property and, quite rightly, didn't like paying for boaters to use his water. I believe the rubbish point was scrapped because of difficulty accessing the site over bridge 101(?) I could, of course, be wrong.
  9. 2 years. Perhaps some kind person has run the engine for a couple of hours each week to keep batteries charged etc? That adds up to 'hundreds' of hours. Just a thought...
  10. Horns... Mine is very loud....BUT... ...it takes about 3 seconds to get up to maximum strength, then 3 seconds to return to normal. If I start blasting out a signal to someone, the chances are that when I've finished, the other boat will either be miles away, or we've bashed into each other... 🙂
  11. No, it's not. The OP should sort his boat out.
  12. Trouble shooting? The person who wired this lot up needs bloody shooting, what a mess.
  13. Thanks, I enjoyed that. Good little programme.
  14. Blimey. After re-watching the footage several times, I've changed my mind. This bloke really is an arsehole.
  15. Really? I thought the only rule was to give way to craft coming downstream. Downstream.
  16. Quite agree. It is patently obvious that the narrowboater was in reverse, with the tiller pointing in the correct direction, as to be doing all he can to avoid a collision. The poor bloke has had a lot of bad things said about him, on here and elsewhere, that he doesn't deserve.
  17. No rusty, I wasn't. And neither were any of the other contributors to the thread, probably. As I've said earlier, it seems that people are looking at this video and jumping to conclusions, that's all.
