My understanding is that this was scheduled for the Easter weekend (same weekend as Ellesmere port, grrr...), but I do remember seeing somewhere that it had been cancelled?

Can anyone shed any light?

The HNBOC are having the Easter meet there.(announced at the last meeting) We'll be going, well we'll try.

Apparently the W & B C S got into a sulk with the local council and decided not to hold festival.

But I believe there is an HNBOC event in Droitwich on the weekend Fri 6th April to Mon 9th April.

Certainly the HNBOC calendar pages are showing it.

As "Tiggers" says - same weekend as Ellesmere Port.

In the spirit of early IWA meets (When Canals were about to be remanded) surely the best thing would be to have as many boats attend & prove that the spirit of the waterways is not dead !

Arrange a Droitwich meet & invite the press to prove how wrong the local council was surely ??

Lets face it , most boaters dont need an official invite from a local authority - just a mooring somewhere & something to drink !

We would attend if it want so far !

The odd thing is that Cller Pam Davey is herself a boater. Maybe the dispute was as to who should run the show, the council or WB&DCS. Perhaps David Wheeler could let us know.
