Is the paper quality of the U.K. "GQ" as soft and absorbent as most French "PQ's" are ?

The paper in my local Algerian bar, when I lived in Paris, made Izal Medicated feel soft and absorbent.

On a different tangent, what happens if you get a widebeam, but put it on a canal that only has narrow beam locks? so I could genuinely travel up to the next lock. 14 day stay, & back again.

BW would expect you to move to the next pound, or further, by the same means you employed to reach the first one.
