'Hi Fase' marine batteries

Featured Posts

My starter battery probably needs replacing. Looking at the top it is called a 'HiFase' 110 Marine. I can't find these for sale anywhere. Does anyone know which alternative make is compatible in physical size, shape and power requirement? I don't want to have to start changing my battery shelf and terminals. Thanks, Gordon in Ely

I would recommend this company http://www.shieldbatteries.co.uk/ I don't think they would be to far from you. If you measure the size of your battery and note the terminal positions you should be able to identify at http://www.shieldbatteries.co.uk/pdf/shield_car-comm_m.pdf

If it says 'Marine' it might as well say 'Micky Mouse' There is no such thing as a marine battery.

This is probably just a generic 12V 110A truck battery with a fancy sticker - there are thousands of different one's around - Stickers that is!

Buy the one you want to afford from any commercial battery stockists - wet type and the heavier the better.

Just to add,

If it is just for starting, go and buy any 'standard battery' that will fit and is of the right size (ampere hour, CCA [cold cranking amps]) to start your engine.

Basically you want a 'normal' car battery suitable for starting a diesel engine, nothing special.

Find your nearest battery specialist/ motor factors or even Halfords. (the last one is a bit tongue in cheek but they do sell batteries 'suitable for starting a 2 litre diesel engine')

Cheap as chips. ;)
