Keith closed down about 2 years ago. There's a boat called 'Spud' moored here in Upwell which was apparently his last. I think he simply retired.

Correct Athy, I had one of his shells built in 2004 and met up with him on his wide beam in 2006 after he retired.

 

It looks as if company has taken over his workshops link to Darke boats

Ah yes, the mysterious and aptly-named Darke Boats! I recall that there were two separate but friendly boatbuilding companies operating from Keith Wood's yard; could the other have been P.M. Buckle, who I think is still operating?

No Pat Buckle is at Stinnington a bit further up th A1. The other company at Stilton was Floating Homes.
