I'm not on holiday yet, but after viewing all the threads about the Thames - have decided that I've got to do it on my hols in late August. My insurance company says I don't need extra cover unless going past the Barrier (might pay for that privilege though after seeing the Barking Creek Blog recently).....and I'm fed up of watching the Finchers youtube vid of their cruise.

 

I took the day off to sort a few bits out and decided to start cruising now!!

 

so today it was Berkhamstead to Croxley Green, was going to be Rickmansworth but the rain came down after Cassiobury and after 9 long hours, I'd had enough. It was slow going with most locks set against me. The Winkwell swing bridge needed 50p for the electric meter and took a while to get fixed.

Cassiobury park is really nice, might moor there on the way back, and Cassiobury Bridge wharf/marina seems just up my street.

If I finish work early enough tommorow, I may do Ricky in the evening, otherwise it's the weekend.

I will upload a few photo's at work tommorow.

hmm - yep!

Those Finchers are just so forceful!!

Sue, you've got a fair walk on now!, I've been anywhere from Leighton Buzzard to Kings Langley in the last 12 months, although Berko is in the middle and gets me more often

came past Black Jacks today, didn't see lincoln No2!!

 

..and all the way down to Cowley Jnctn.

 

Currently moored opposite Hyperon and what looks like Arundel, but it can't be because I passed Arundel and Joe near Uxbridge lock.

 

sun is shining and someones just started playing Hotel California in the distance....

 

bliss.

 

 

it's a long way to the tube station though....
