DHutch
Ah air draft? what is that Its the 'loading gauge' of the waterway. - ie the amount of room avalable between the water line and tops of the bridges/tunnels. - like coneventional draugh is the distance from the waterline to the bottom of the canal (the depth) Does know one here know the answer for paul? Daniel Now there is one for pedants. Don't you mean: - the lowest point of the bridge/tunnel above the waterline; and - from the waterline to the bottom of the boat? Don't you mean: - the lowest point of the bridge/tunnel above the waterline; and - from the waterline to the bottom of the boat? ah well, i guess that should read 'avalable draught' as you are corrent, 'draught' is the depth of the acctual boat. As for whatpart of the tunnel/bridge it is, im not sure exactly how that works, becuase being serverly arched, the its much much high in and around the middle, infact, the arch can in places continue to curve below the waterline, which would give a negative reading... - maybe they take it as the highest 7ft-wide block they could fitt down the tunnel (keeping it all above the waterline) Also, can help feeling this is now only loosly attactched to the topic... Doh! Daniel
