MaryP
There was a large branch - perhaps half a tree - which had split off, lying in the water just at the northern entrance to the Bosworth Tunnel. Easy to spot heading south, but would be more difficult heading north as it is so close to the tunnel exit. It’s blocking about half the width of the canal. Bosworth tunnel is on the Leicester part of the GUC. I passed this yesterday 27th Feb. Edited February 28, 2010 by Mary P
carlt
Has anyone tried getting a rope around it and dragging it out?
MaryP
It was still attached at the trunk end. It looked like the top half of the tree had split leaving it's top branches in the water, but the main part of the trunk attached. These top branches covered half of the canal, non towpath side. ie upside down tree in water...

MaryP
Yes I have emailed Lisa Jarvis as this is her patch. I'd had a previous email exchange with her, and she has been very helpful in the past. Cheers.
