Hi

I searched HMRC and couldnt find reference to Red but I could see that the old rate for ULSD was the same as we all talked about Red being previously so I assumed they both went up at the same rate

A fair enough assumption in the absence of something better.

Perhaps one of the retailers who contributes to the forum can confirm ?

It seems the difference should have risen to 46p from 1 Apr 2009.

When I last recorded it at the "coal" boats at Denham deep, they were charging £1.05 propulsion, but only 55p "other" so their difference was 50p not 46p

Point 7 on this document states:

7. On 1 April 2009, effective rates of duty (that is, the relevant duty minus the relevant rebate) for non-road fuels were increased by the same percentage as main road fuels. These rates will be increased similarly on 1 September 2009, and on 1 April from 2010 to 2013.

Duty Rates

and that there is then a rebate for Marked Gas Oil.

In September it all goes up again and the 'difference' between propulsion and domestic will be 47.66p.
