Liam
I have been looking around, mostly on the internet, for a while now for a group or society related to the running and maintenance of heritage boats in and around my area (Manchester) but alas, there appear to be none. The ones I've seen along the lines of something I'm interested in, is The Working Boats Project and also The Narrowboat Trust but these are either based mainly in Brum, or south of. Can anyone help? Rick-n-Jo
You might also consider The Horseboating Society (click for website) whose regular boat is "Maria" which is based at Guide Bridge, Ashton-under-Lyne. Sue Day is always after crew for her horse drawn journeys, no exp required, and I'm sure that the Ashton Packet Boat Company who own and maintain her (among others) would welcome help. (btw,it's Maria that APBCo own and maintain, not Sue Day. I don't know who maintains her! Rick
