pearley
It is not mentioned in the stoppage list but the railway bridge just before the Drawbridge pub is undergoing serious repair with a pontoon across the canal. You can still get through but be prepared for delays whilst they move the pontoon. Repairs are due to last 6 weeks from 7 Jan. MaryP
Yesterday the barge they were using for the repairs sunk in the bridge hole, and so they need to drain the canal and recover the barge with the heavy plant on it. Canal therefore closed at Whitlocks End Rail Bridge (it is mentioned on Waterscape) until Monday, and then open with delays as above until the stoppage on 06 - 11 Feb 2008.
